The Creative highlight of the semester, while there are many posters that are made for the MCC Theatre. Here are some that I myself am proud of.
The Rocky Horror Show is a zany rock musical written by Richard O'brian with heavy prominence of expression of individuality and personal expression in its themes, while also being rooted in inspiration from classic horror films. I used these properties as inspiration for the production of this piece.
RENT is a vibrant urban drama written by Jonathon Larson. Its most well known for its perspective of the common issues those who live in sprawling city's face, such as self-expression, wealth disparity in urban environments and the impact that art has in such environments. These presented a poingant sense of inspiration for this poster.
Into the Woods by Steven Sondheim and James Lapine is a humorous multifaceted dramedy heavily inspired by the timeless fantastical stories like those found in the brothers Grimm. The story is separated through the interactions of the different characters however with a much larger grand plot moving in the background. These interactions often dealing with the wants and dreams of the characters and the way these dreams challenge them as they move through the story. It is this approach of real world issues through the lens of the fantastical that inspired the production of this poster.
